OUR CARE PROGRAM

Talk to any of our family members and you will learn that Candle Light Cove's reputation is for consistently excellent care, thanks to the quality of our staff, our small size and our low care ratio (1:8, not including management and nursing staff). Fostering our residents' independence, individuality, and dignity is a key focus of our orientation and training programs.

We offer on-site nursing care 16 hours daily, and our full-time Health Services Director is on-call when not on-site. Medication administration and monitoring are handled exclusively by nursing staff.

Tred Avon care managers are certified nursing assistants who also complete a training course including: patho-physiology of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, symptom management, therapeutic activities, and using the self as a therapeutic tool.

Other guidance provided to care managers includes: problem-solving in symptom management and individualized care strategies; and tracking and documenting problem behaviors.
